10 pieces | 10 outfits | 10 days
The challenge started today but you can do this challenge anytime. I will actually be doing it for the next 14 days because we are away from home so I now have no choice, muwahahaha. Want to join me? Both Caroline and Lee have great tips and suggestions on their posts on how to get started but here is the basic rundown...
What's included? Tops, sweaters, pants, dresses, shoes, and coats
What's not included? Hats, bags, accessories, scarves, necklaces, jewelry, base layers (underwear, tights, bodysuits, socks, etc), workout wear, pjs/loungewear
Things to consider? Weather forecast, work/activities, and wear/washability
When picking out only 10 items, it can be overwhelming. You want to be able to mix and match as much as possible. Here are some helpful pointers...
Start with your favorite go-tos. Whether it's few or many, you'll have a base to start with. Now carry on with adding or taking away based on weather, lifestyle, and the following:
Go with a neutral color palette. Think black, white, gray, cognac, and denim. Add just a pop of flare with a print or color that can still easily be combined with any of your pieces.
Look at the clothing proportions. Pick shapes and silhouettes that pair well.
